As Senior Advisor at SIR, Ried is a veritable Swiss Army knife and works on a wide range of SIR’s products and services. From business development, generating detailed proposals and project budgets, to conducting research, developing plans, and facilitating everything in-between, Ried’s can-do attitude and problem-solving abilities are instrumental in keeping SIR moving.
An unashamed 90’s kid, Ried grew up immersed in technology and the early internet. His understanding of the digital landscape often finds a way to help SIR and clients come up with creative solutions to uncommon problems. Since the world shifted to a more virtual format in March 2020, Ried’s skills in this area have become invaluable to our clients and our team.
No matter what project he’s on, Ried’s organization and attention to detail are evident. Clients can expect frequent communication, in-depth research, and on-target timelines and deliverables.
Ried often spends his time outside of SIR on two wheels. An avid cyclist, he enjoys “shredding” the local trails, hitting the road with friends, and occasionally toe-ing the start line. When on his feet, Ried enjoys spending time with friends and family (preferably on the water) and walks by the James River with his wife and their 100-pound lab, Avett.
I Can Fix That:
Throughout my college experience, I worked part-time as a bicycle mechanic at a local shop. I love to tinker, and the job really scratched that itch for me. It also taught me that solving complex problems (much like troubleshooting a clunky drivetrain) often just takes breaking things down into pieces, doing a little investigating, and putting them back together in the right order (with a little grease, of course).
While that might be an oversimplification, it’s not unlike what we deliver for our clients. We help solve problems big and small by organizing the situation, uncovering insights, and collaborating on an optimal path forward. We bring a trained eye and steady hand to every situation, like mechanics, but for businesses. I guess you could say our work still scratches that itch for me.
